Leonard-type transformer

This exhibit is about 5 m long (5.5 yards) and can be called a particular highlight on a tour of our museum. It represents a generator supplying direct current (600 V) for the plants driving the rope-and-pulley shunting system. Direct current was essential to operate the system at constant speed. However, this machine could also supply alternating current to support the railway power network. Our club hopes to renovate this plant and to make it work again.
